US Passport Acceptance

As a Passport Acceptance Agency, the City is able to assist with accepting applications and documents supporting first-time adult and ongoing child applications. Most forms needed for this process are available in the City Administration Office.

If you would like to use the City of Fort Wright as your Passport Acceptance Facility, please call 859-331-1700 to set up an appointment. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, depending on staff availability. The City Administration staff is typically unable to support walk-in applicants. Please be aware that the City is unable to take passport photos. Many local Walgreens, CVS, and Staples locations have the capabilities to take passport photos. You must bring all copies of the photos you are given to the passport acceptance appointment. 

The City is unable to send in passport renewal applications. 

You must bring two forms of payment to your passport acceptance appointment. Every application must be paid for via check or money order to the US Department of State. The passport application fee structure is listed below. In addition, each application must be accompanied by an Execution Fee of $35, which is payable to the City of Fort Wright via check, cash, money order, or credit card (with bank processing fee). 

Passport processing time is updated regularly by the US Department of State and posted on their website. If you would like to expedite the processing of your passport application, please add $60 to each application total. There are also options to expedite shipping from our acceptance facility to the processing center and from the processing center back to you. Each of those does incur its own fee, which can fluctuate based on current USPS market prices.
