Fort Wright City Clerk Susan Ellis Earns Certified Municipal Clerk Certificates

The City of Fort Wright would like to recognize and congratulate City Clerk Susan Ellis on earning the designation of Certified Kentucky Municipal Clerk (CKMC) from the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Institute (KMCI), and Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).

Susan joined the Fort Wright staff full-time in 2017 and began working on earning her certification from KMCI almost immediately, completing the 3 year professional development process in July 2019. She also just recently completed all the requirements to obtain her CMC Certificate and received that certification on September 23, 2019.

To become a Certified Municipal Clerk in the State of Kentucky one must complete 120 hours of training in an IIMC Certified Program. The 120 hours of training includes 50% in Public Administration; 30% in Social and Interpersonal Concerns; and 20% in Electives. Additionally, attendees must be full members of the Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association (KMCA) for two years. More information can be found at www.kyclerks.com.
