NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Sections 163 and 164 of the Kentucky Constitution that the City Council of the City of Fort Wright, Kentucky (“City”), will consider offers for sale to the most responsive and best bidder, plus all costs including advertising costs, a telecommunications franchise as defined in Resolution 11-2019, adopted by the City Council on December 18, 2019 (the “Resolution”). A copy of the resolution may be picked up from the City Clerk’s office at 409 Kyles Lane, Fort Wright, Kentucky 41011, during weekday office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is posted below:
Fort Wright Resolution 11-2019
The franchise shall be non-exclusive and shall allow the franchisee to acquire, lay, maintain and operate in the public rights-of-way of the City (the “Franchise Area”), a system of fiber optic cables, wires, conduits, ducts, poles, pedestals, communications and signal lines and equipment for the transmission, distribution and sale of telecommunications services. The franchise shall be for a term of five (5) years renewable upon mutual agreement of the City and franchisee, and shall be effective sixty (60) days after it is awarded.
Sealed bids must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the City of Fort Wright, 409 Kyles Lane, Fort Wright, Kentucky 41011. Bids should be addressed to the City Clerk and shall reference “Telecommunication Services Franchise Bid Submission”.
The City of Fort Wright reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities in awarding the franchise, and to accept what, in its opinion, is the most responsive, responsible and best bid which is in the best interests of, and most advantageous to, the City and its citizens.
