(Full Time) Treasuer

The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Full-Time Treasurer. The position is responsible for the financial management of the City, ensuring the efficient operation of the Administration Department, and rendering high quality service to our residents.

Position duties include, but are not limited to, facilitation of account payable/account receivable transactions and journal entries; serve as custodian of all monies, bonds, and city securities; balance cash drawers; assist in annual audits; maintain collaterals and investments according to policy; serve as the City Tax Collector; maintain inventory and asset accounts; Federal, State, and Local reporting; prepare deposits; assist in bank reconciliations; records retention; interpret City Ordinances and State Statutes; filing; process passports; payroll functions; attend meetings of Council and Board of Adjustments and prepare minutes as needed; codification of Ordinances; provide clerical support which may include grant writing, reporting, and facilitation, while rendering excellent customer service.  This individual will report directly to the City Administrator and/or her designee.

The successful candidate should possess minimally an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) from an accredited university in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or another closely related field, supplemented by previous comparative work experience; and possess a general understanding of GASB and GFOA governmental accounting, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Proficiency in Sage 50 software desired. Must be able to obtain a CMC Certificate, Notary Public, NIMS/ICS Certificates, Passport Acceptance Certification, and be bondable. 

Salary Range (DOQ) for the position is $46,151.65 to $62,082.29. Excellent benefit package provided, which currently includes the following:

(Full-Time) Firefighter/Paramedic

The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.  This position will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to, fire prevention/suppression, emergency medical duties, rescue, report preparation, equipment maintenance, etc.  These individuals will report directly to the Fire/EMS Chief and/or his designee and must perform skilled responsibilities for a department that has approximately 1500 service calls per year.

The successful candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalency; A Valid Driver’s License; Current National Registry Paramedic Certification or KY Paramedic Certification; ACLS, CPR, and PALS Certifications; KY 400 HR Certification or Firefighter I and II Certification; CPAT Card (KY Firefighter laterals are exempt).  All applicable certifications should be supplemented by proven responsible Fire Rescue/EMS work, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This is a 24/48 hour shift rotation including a Kelly Day, that involves hazardous work in inclement weather conditions.

Starting Salary (DOQ) for each position is $51,000, plus 416 hours of regularly scheduled over-time and a $4,000 state hazardous duty incentive. Excellent benefit package provided, which currently includes the following:

(Part-Time) Seasonal Public Works Laborer


The City of Fort Wright, KY, is seeking a dynamic, highly self-motivated individual for the position of PT Seasonal Public Works Laborer.  The position reports directly to the Public Works Director and is responsible for a variety of manual labor related work (with a primary focus on grass mowing and litter abatement on public properties and public rights-of-way).

The successful candidate should possess minimally - a High School Diploma or equivalency, supplemented by previous work experience; a valid driver’s license; a demonstrated proficiency in the safe operation of equipment, and an ability to render high quality service to our residents.

Hourly Rate of Pay (DOQ):  $15 to $18 – approx. 22 hours per week from April/May through November/December.
