ADMINISTRATION

CITY CLERK (Full-Time)

The City of Fort Wright, KY, is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of full-time City Clerk. The position reports directly to the City Administrator and is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Administration Department and rendering high quality service to our residents, businesses and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and leadership skills. He or she must also possess excellent writing skills and be proficient in various office technology to create word processing documents, databases and spreadsheets, perform website maintenance, operate and maintain various office equipment, and be able to bend, lift and move items in excess of 25 pounds. This individual will also be responsible for duties including, but not limited to attending and preparing minutes for all meetings of the City Council and Board of Adjustments; Codification of Ordinances; Records Retention; interpreting City Ordinances and State Statutes; serve as the City Tax/Revenue Collector; filing; payroll processing; processing passport applications; assist incoming citizens/answer incoming telephone calls; cash management; secretarial/clerical support to the CAO and City Dept Heads, which may include grant writing, reporting, and facilitation.

The successful candidate should possess at minimum a High School Diploma (college experience or degree, preferred), supplemented by previous comparative work experience, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary; A valid Driver’s License; Must be able to obtain a CMC Certificate, Notary Public, Passport Acceptance Agent Certification, and be bondable. Must be knowledgeable in use of modern technology and software, including all Microsoft 365 products. Must have excellent customer service skills.

Salary Range (DOQ) $52,993.05 - $71,997.86, plus excellent benefit package provided, which currently includes the following:

Police Department

Police Officer (Full-Time)

The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual for the position of full-time Police Officer. This position will be responsible for the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances and will report directly to the Chief of Police and/or his designee.

The successful candidate must be 21 years of age, a U.S. citizen, free from felony conviction, have a valid KY driver’s license or be capable of attaining one, and have a HS diploma or equivalent at the time of appointment. Applicants must satisfactorily pass all pre-employment requirements in accordance with KRS 15.382, the Peace Officers Professional Standards Act (POPS).

Salary Range (DOQ) is $59,092.00 to $79,472.17, plus occasional overtime, special details, holiday pay, and a $4,300 state hazardous duty incentive upon receipt of POPS Certification. Excellent benefit package provided, which currently includes the following:

​Fire Department

Firefighter/Paramedic (Full-Time)

The City of Fort Wright is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.  This position will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to, fire prevention/suppression, emergency medical duties, rescue, report preparation, equipment maintenance, etc.  These individuals will report directly to the Fire/EMS Chief and/or his designee and must perform skilled responsibilities for a department that has approximately 1500 service calls per year.

The successful candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalency; A Valid Driver’s License; Current National Registry Paramedic Certification or KY Paramedic Certification; ACLS, CPR, and PALS Certifications; KY 400 HR Certification or Firefighter I and II Certification; CPAT Card (KY Firefighter laterals are exempt).  All applicable certifications should be supplemented by proven responsible Fire Rescue/EMS work, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This is a 24/48 hour shift rotation including a Kelly Day, that involves hazardous work in inclement weather conditions.

Starting Salary (DOQ) for each position is $56,244.62, plus 416 hours of regularly scheduled over-time and a $4,300 state hazardous duty incentive. Excellent benefit package provided, which currently includes the following:
