Fiscal Court honors Kenton County resident with Pioneer Award

The Kenton County Fiscal Court honored lifelong resident Tom Litzler with the pioneer award at Tuesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Litzler served in the United States Army for six years, being honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent in 1966. He then went on to graduate from Thomas More College in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration. His career was in the grocery industry, where he worked at Remke Markets from 1957 to 2015. He was Remke’s director of Government Relations at the time of his retirement.

He went on to hold a variety of public offices in Fort Wright, such as mayor, city council and on the Board of Adjustments. Additionally, he served on the Fort Wright Civic Club board, PDS Council, PDS Management Board, the Kenton-Boone Cable Board, TBNK Board and Northern Kentucky Forum Committee among others.
